Fern Ridge Middle School

Saying Goodbye to Four Important People

Posted Date: 6/11/25 (5:23 PM)

Before the end of the school year, I want to take a moment to say thank you and best wishes to some important members of our Fern Ridge Middle School staff who will not be returning to us in the fall:

Ralph Davis- After a long and storied career teaching, Ralph Davis will retire from full time teaching on June 13th. Although he has only worked at FRMS for two years (before that he taught in Junction City), Mr. Davis has made a definite impact on our school and our students. We are so grateful that he took the plunge and changed schools so he could bring his teaching magic to our students.

Sherry Cooper- Sherry has been a long time instructional assistant at FRMS and is retiring at the end of this school year. She has helped to support our students with disabilities in the special education classrooms and in mainstream classes. She has also been the driving force behind the Oregon Battle of the Books competition at FRMS for over a decade.  Sherry is looking forward to spending more time with her family, including her beautiful grandchildren.

River Hardy- After three years of teaching language arts at Fern Ridge Middle School, Ms. Hardy leaves us to return to her hometown on the coast next year. She will be teaching 9th Grade Language Arts. FRMS students have been lucky to have her as a teacher and we wish her well in her new position.

V. Marcel- After two years as a member of our staff, our Bridges teacher V, Marcel will be leaving us to continue her higher education. For the last year, V has taught in our Bridges program. She is well known for her enthuisasm, energy, and empathy towards all students. We will miss her positive presence in our building

Please join me in saying thank you for all you've done for Fern Ridge Middle School and best of luck in the future.
