I want to welcome all of our sixth grade families to Fern Ridge Middle School. I am very excited about the upcoming school year and getting to know our new sixth grade students. Watching your child learn, grow, and transform over their three years at middle school is one of the very best parts of my job. 
        I also want to remind all of our sixth grade families that registration for sixth graders and new students will take place on August 13th from Noon to 8 P.M. In addition to registering your child for the new school year, there will also be an opportunity to tour the school and try out their new locker. Yearbooks ($17) and FRMS Spirit Shirts ($10) will be on sale, cash or check only. Students new to the district should have proof of residency, birth certificates, and immunization information. Students coming from Veneta Elementary or Elmira Elementary already have that information in their file. Those who register online still need to fill out some additional forms in person. If you can't make it on the 13th, registration will continue on August 19th, 20th, and 21st. Check out the website calendar for the hours.   
       If your child will not be attending FRMS this year, please let us know as it helps with our planning. Our office officially opens on August 11th, but in the meantime if you have any questions you can reach me by Parent Square or email at ojohnson@fernridge.k12.or.us
