FRMS Kindness Campaign Begins Tuesday- How Families Can Be Involved

Posted Date: 05/21/26 (08:24 AM)

FRMS will be ending the school year with our schoolwide Kindness Campaign. We will be talking about and emphasizing the ways in which middle school students can be kind to each other, to their families, to their community, and to themselves. We will be sharing the importance of kindness as a concept and as an action- that doing kind things is as important as being kind.       There will be several activities going on at FRMS around kindness in the coming weeks. Our leadership class is making a video around kindness that they will be sharing with all students. Staff will be looking for acts of kindness from students to reward with "kindness" tickets that will go towards prizes.  Kindness will be a recurring theme in morning announcements and throughout the school. Students will even be able to identify other classmates who are kind with kindness "shout outs" that will be posted on the library wall for all to see and celebrate.
We are also asking families to help us celebrate and reinforce kindness. Students who demonstrate kindness at home or in the community can be celebrated for that kindness. If your child is kind to their siblings or helps a neighbor or demonstrates any act of kindness, just give the office a call (541-935-8230) or email me (ojohnson@fernridge.k12.or.us) or comment to this post or send a message through Parent Square letting us know what your child did and how proud you are of them. 😀  We will put two Kindness tickets into the drawing for your student and include that kind act in our campaign.
Our campaign starts on Tuesday, May 26th  and will go through the last day of school, June 11th. There will be drawings for prizes throughout the campaign for all three grade levels to ensure all kind acts are celebrated.
